DAY BY DAY... / murmur of an office worker
For four years, I passed the same two scenes on my way to work each day: a construction site and a strange wall covered with letters.
The construction site grew taller day by day, eventually becoming a building; the letter wall, on the other hand, was constantly changing. Letters appeared, fell away, and were put back up at unexpected times. They became two sides of my everyday life: one shaped by the regular, repetitive work of being in an office; the other by a self that still longs for freedom and tries to stay alive.
This book brings together four years of changes in these two scenes, along with records of workdays and written fragments. Calendars and sticky notes hold these records of everyday work, thoughts, and small forms of escape, as well as a sense of time passing.

I spent forever hunting for the right paper to mount the prints. When I went to pay, the clerk casually said, “It‘s called Grown-Up Vibe.”I just burst out laughing—like, come on, it couldn’t be more perfect for this artwork.
